Charles Bassett
Charles “Ray” Bassett, 72, of Coatsville (Heritage Lake) died March 14, 2009. He was born August 23, 1936 in Bedford, Indiana to Arno and Ethel Bassett. Mr. Bassett was an electrical engineer with PSI at Plainfield, (now Duke Energy) for 37 years, retiring in 1994. He was currently working with his son, Michael, at their company, Scott Pet, since his retirement. “Ray” was a member of First Baptist Church Danville, The Princeton, In. Masonic Lodge, The Rockville, Indiana. Elks Lodge and American Legion Post there. “Ray” served his country in two branches of services, the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Army. Private graveside services were held at Danville South Cemetery with Weaver & Randolph Funeral Home Danville in charge of arrangements. Survivors: sons, Michael and Donald, both of Rockville and Jon Bassett, of Fishers. A daughter, Julia Riffy, of Danville, 9 grandchildren, sister, Fern Cross of Edinburgh and Bonnie Ingle, of Bedford. Brothers, Terry Bassett, of Princeton and Richard Brown, of Bedford. He was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Bettie Suee (Cundiff) Bassett.
