Robert Bass Jr.
Robert Edwin Bass Jr., 56, husband of Valarie Shirah Bass, died Thursday, July 8, 1999, at Tuomey Healthcare System.
Born in Sumter, he was a son of the late Robert E. Bass Sr. and Margaret Williams Bass.
Mr. Bass was a member of First Baptist Church and a member of Sumter Masonic Lodge No. 364.
Survivors, besides hiw wife of Sumter, include two sons, Robert E. Bass III of Surfside Beach and James Terry Bass of Sumter; and two aunts, Catherine Bass and Mary Frances Shaw, both of Sumter.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church with Dr. Kirl Smith and Dr. James Goodroe officiating. Burial will follow in the Mayesville Black River Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Eric Lee Bonnette, Michael Smith, Steven Dobbs, Scott Joslin, Monty Reed and Chris Freeman.
Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Dominy, Van Peeples, James Baker, Larry Willis, Charles Burns and Dr. John Shaw.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at the Elmore-Hill-McCreight Fuenral Home and other times at the homne, 270 Planters Drive.
Memorial may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Elmore-Hill-McCreight Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
