Bass, Sarah "Adelaide" Turner, 88, of National Road, Wheeling, WV., died Friday, May 23, 2003 in the Wheeling Hospital. She was born May 18, 1915 in Wheeling, WV., daughter of late Harry Alexander and Lillian Mae Lyons Turner. She was a retired cashier with the former Foodland, Wheeling and a Protestant by faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Arthur Bass Sr. in 1979; a sister; and a brother. Surviving are a son, John A. Bass Jr., and his wife, Charlotte, of Wheeling; a daughter, Nancy Bass Crall of Moundsville; a brother, Harry Turner and his wife, Vera, of Wheeling; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Friends received 7-9 p.m. Sunday and from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at the Kepner Funeral Home, National Road at Bethany Pike, Wheeling where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 27, 2003. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
