Mullins, S.C., Sept. 14. ? A marriage of widespread interest to manhy in the Carolinas and Virginia was that which was solemnized with simplicity and dignity Tuesday afternoon, September 3, at 4:30 o?clock at the home of the bride?s parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. O. Dixon, when Miss Lloyd Dixon became the bride of Fleetwood J. Bass, Jr., of Roanoke, Va. The ceremony was performed by the bride?s pastor, the Rev. J.H. Danner of the Memthodist church. The impressive ring ceremony was used. Only the members of the two families and a small group of intimate friends were present.

Mullins - February 9 - Many hearts were saddened when the news reached Mullins early Monday morning that Mrs. Fleetwood Bass of Grundy, Virginia, formerly Miss Lloyd Dixon of Mullins, had passed away in a Richmond hospital Sunday night.
Mrs. Bass, who was 26 years of age, was the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C.O. Dixon of Mullins and was one of the loveliest Christan characters and most talented girls ever reared in this community. In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by an infant son only a few days old, and four brothers, Carlisle, James and Thomas Dixon of Mullins and Oscar Dixon, who is a student at the Citadel, Charleston.
Funeral services will be held at the Methodist Church here Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 oâ??clock with interment following in the Mullins cemetery.
