Hawkins
Guy Hopkins Hawkins, 82, died September 4, 1980. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mrs. Frances Bass Hawkins; a daughter, Mrs. Jane H. Payne, Richmond; a sister, Mrs. Gladys H. Buntin, Jackson, TN; two brothers, H. Eldred Hawkins, Richmond, Dr. Thomas J. Hawkins, Kilmarnock, Va.; two grandchildren, Sharon P. Atkinson and Stephen R. Payne both of Richmond. Mr. Hawkins owned and operated William Byrd Cleaners for over 20 years until his retirement in 1966. He was active in the Boy Scouts of America for 37 years. He was the recipient of many honors and awards, one of which was the coveted Silver Beaver. Among the position in which he served was Organization and Extension Chairman of the old Manchester District. Remains rest at the Sutherland-Brown Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 425 N. Blvd. where services will be conducted Saturday 11 A.M. Interment Riverview. The family requests that in lieu of flowers contributions be made to Boy Scouts of America, 900 Westover Rd., Richmond, Va. 23220.
