Mrs. Betty Jane Bass

Betty Jane Bass, at the age of 99, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 3, 2022.
She was a graduate of Murphy High School in Mobile, Alabama. She was a long-time member of Lagoon Baptist Church in Gulf Shores and enjoyed keeping the nursery, teaching Sunday school, and served on various church committees. She was an active member of the women?s auxiliary of The Gideons International.
Betty was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Marion Irvin Bass, Sr, along with her grandsons, Brad Bass and Kyle Bass, her son-in-law, Daniel Lamont and her grand-daughter, Julie?s husband, Joseph Faust.
Betty is survived by her three children: Marion I Bass, Jr., and his wife Lori; Linda Lamont; Darrell Bass and his wife Stacey. Betty leaves behind her nine grandchildren: Christine Gaar (and her husband, Brett), Karen Harmon (and her husband, Keith), Derek Bass, John Lamont (and his wife, Mercedes), Julie Faust, Daniel Bass (and his wife, Daiany) and Michael Bass; nine great-grand-children: Corey Popp, Haley Gaar Zelada (and her husband, Ariel), Abby Gaar Harrison (and her husband, Ryan), Garrett Gaar, Kane Bass, Connor Harmon, Karagrace Harmon, Michael Bass, and Virginia Bass; and one great-great grandchild, Claire Popp.
Funeral services will take place at Lagoon Baptist Church in Gulf Shores on Friday, July 8 at 12:00 p.m. followed by the burial at Miller Memorial Cemetery. Following the burial, friends and family are welcome to join us in celebrating Betty?s life with lunch in the Fellowship Hall at Lagoon Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, a donation to The Gideons International or Lagoon Baptist Church is appreciated.
