STAMPING GROUND - Carl Samuel Bassett, 84, retired farmer, WW II veteran, died Saturday. Services 1 p.m. Tuesday, Tucker Yocum and Wilson Funeral Home, Visitation 5-8 p.m. today.

Carl Samuel Bassett
Carl Samuel Bassett, 84, of Stamping Ground, died Saturday, Nov. 17, 2001, at Georgetown Healthcare. He was born in Scott County on March 30, 1917, and was the son of the late John Peter and Adeline Braden Bassett. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Caney Fork Baptist Church. He served his country during World War II. Survivors include a nephew and seven nieces. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2001, at Tucker, Yocum & Wilson Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmy Alexander officiating. Burial was in the Masonic Cemetery of Stamping Ground. Casket bearers were Herbert Towles, Ray C. Towles, Harold Towles, Nolan Glass, Edward Southworth and Jasper Southworth.
