Elgie Langley Bass, age 75, of Phillips Road near Selma, died Saturday. Born in Johnston County on November 10, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Jack and Della Elizabeth Green Langley. Elgie was a very loving wife, mother and mema. A memorial service will be held Monday at 6:00 p.m. in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma.Surviving are: her husband, Roy S. Bass; son, Tony Deans of Selma; daughter, Joy Deans of Selma; brother, James Langley of Selma; sisters, Helen Brown of Selma and Ann Davis of Smithfield; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends immediately following the memorial service. Memorial contributions may be made to Johnston Memorial Home Health and Hospice.
