1939 - 2024
Barbara Dawson Bass, 84, of Wilson, died Monday, January 22, 2024 surrounded by her loving family.
A graveside service will be Wednesday, January 24, 3:00 PM, at Evergreen Memorial Park, followed by visiting.
Barbara, a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother was affectionately known as "Grammy" by those who were blessed to share their lives with her. Her unwavering love, kindness, and nurturing presence created a home filled with warmth and joy. Beyond her roles in the family she was a compassionate nurse and dedicated member of West Nash United Methodist Church where her faith shown brightly. She will be deeply missed and will be held in our hearts forever.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Virginia Darden Dawson and sisters, Hazel Coley and Frances Felton.
She is survived by her husband, Allen Bass; sons, Jeff Bass (Deana) of Wilson and Brad Bass (Susan) of Whispering Pines; grandchildren, Amanda, Nicholas, Justin, Jeremy and Joshua.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to West Nash United Methodist Church, PO Box 8298, Wilson, NC 27893.
