NON MARRIAGE:In: FAMILIES OF EARLY MILFORD CONN. by Susan Woodruff Abbott (Baltimore, MD; Gen. Pub. Co., Inc., 1979): "Bassett MSS [above] says he [Thomas] had a second wife Ann [Widow Annie Burwell], but this is incorrect. The Thomas Bassett that married Ann is not the same. This Thomas that married Ann was of Stratford, and made his will on the 10th of November 1752 and it was proved 11 March 1756. In the Stratford Records the births of John and Henry are given as children of Thomas and Ann, and John Brown of Stratford was appointed as guardian to Henry.
LAND: Milford, New Haven, Connecticut Land records; V. 12, p. 6. Thomas Bassett's (1660) land is deeded by his children [including Thomas Bassett of Derby] to eldest son, John Bassett, on 7 Feb 1736/7. (See Thomas' notes for full record.)
NOTE: In this land transaction, Thomas (1700) is mentioned as one of the children, but his wife Sarah is not mentioned.
