Nelson-Sutton
Elizabeth Gray Sutton and James Kelly Nelson III, both of Columbia, were married Friday, May 2, 2003, at Trinity Episocpal Cathedral. The Reverend Susan Blackburn Heath and Dr. John Richard Lincoln performed the 7 p.m. ceremony. A reception followed at The Millstone at Adams Pond.
The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Lavon Sutton of Columbia, is the granddaughter of Mrs. Ernest Tillman Bass and the late Mr. Bass of Bethune and the late Mr. and Mrs. Heyward William Sutton of Rock Hill.
The bridegroom, son of Mrs. James Kelley Nelson Jr. and the late Mr. Nelson of Columbia, is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Thomas McLanahan of Elberton, Georgia, and the late Mr. and Mrs. James Kelly Nelson of Columbia.
Maid of honor was Sarah Elizabeth Pennington. Attendants were Katherine Nelson Bowie, Martha Bender Jollie, Lynn Kalmbach Manning, Ryan Holler Moore, Cathere Rose Peele, Sarah Preston Opwers, Lucinda Dorsett Sutton and Lori Morrison Whitmire. Flower girls were ELizbeth McLanahan Bowie and Emma Cain Sutton.
Best man was James Willis Cantey III. Groomsmen were James Hugh McFadden Barringer, Laurence Scott Barringer, George Flynn Bowie Jr., Chrisopther Lawrence Corley, James Rodney McGee II, Francis Pickens Nelson, Jason Michael Sutton, Brinkly Howell Williams and Charles Walker William Jr.
Crucifer was Richardson Gillard Seabrook. Senior ushers were William Clarence Boyd, James Cranston Gray Jr., Donald Valentine Richardson III and Charles Walker Williams. Lay readers were Elizabeth Van Doren Gray and Jonathan Noel Kiser.
