Addie Floyd Bass, 49, of 217 Derby Road, a native of Johnston County, N.C., and the husband of Mrs. Mina Holland Bass, died Saturday in a hospital. He was a son of Mrs. Essie Capps Bass of Rocky Mount, N.C. He was a 12-year employe of Arnette Construction Co. Other survivors include two sons, Floyd Elwood Bass and Terry J. Bass of Portsmouth; five sisters, Mrs. Mamie Parker of Chesapeake, Mrs. Nellie Ruth Beebe and Mrs. Shirley Faye Brantley of Rocky Mount, Mrs. Betty Lewis of Norfolk, and Mrs. Bonnie Lou Webber of Cove City, N.C.; two brothers, Jesse R. Bass of Portsmouth and Charles Ray Bass of Nashville, N.C.; and a grandchild. A funeral will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. in Sturtevant Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Louie A. Vines. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the funeral home tonight from 7 to 8:30.
