He was a retired U.S. Air Force captain and a veteran of World War II and the Korean War, and retired from Office Equipment Company in Tampa. He was a member of Lake Magdalene United Methodist Church and the Northdale Golf Club. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn G.; two daughters, Patricia R. Smith of Tampa and Judith A. Zambito of Cromwell, Connecticut; two sons, George W. of Hanover, Maryland, and Richard A. of Tampa; a brother, Ronald F. Harpe of Tampa; and eight grandchildren. Curry & Son Funeral Home, Tampa.
