She is survived by her husband Newton H. Short, St. Louis, one son, Dr. Howard N. Short and wife Kathleen of St. Louis, one daughter; Phyllis Jeter of Pickerton, OH; one brother, Howard Bassett of St. Louis; six grandchildren; other relatives and many friends. Memorials to St. Francis Borgia Food Pantry, Washington or Immaculate Conception/St. Henry's Outreach Center, St. Louis, are preferred. Mrs. Short donated her body to St. Louis University School of Medicine.
