Wayne Bass
Wayne D. Bass, 71, of Floral City, died Tuesday, May 17, 2016, under the loving care of his family and Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast, in Inverness. Wayne was born in St. Petersburg, FL on September 13, 1944 to the late Madison and Mary (Anderson) Bass. He came here in 1975 from Clearwater, FL. Wayne was a concrete sub-contractor for many years and was the original owner of WD's Pub and WD's restaurant in Inverness. Among his family and friends, Wayne was known for his collecting of "unique items." He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Susan (Canfield) Bass; his son, William "Billy" Bass and his wife Martha, of Floral City; his daughter Elizabeth "Libby" Jones and her husband Tad of Floral City; his grandchildren: Andru, Michael, Tiffany, Stephanie, Justin, Kelsey and Kaitlin and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Bass. Private arrangements are under the direction of the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness.
