Helen Bassett
Helen passed away on the first day of spring, aged 94. Dearly loved wife of John, and sister of Ailsa and Dougie. Mother to Geoff and Deryn, Duncan and Grace, Stephen and Annette, Peta and Johnnie, Shelagh and Lindsay, Bruce and Helen, and Hugh and Kathy. Grandmother to Sarah, Alice and Sam, Amy and Olivia, William, Robbie and Johanna, Caitlin and Anna, and Nicholas and Ella. Great-grandmother to seven in the next generation. Helen was an active, kind and loving friend to many, an artist, gardener, reader, cook, churchgoer, crossword fan, and always on the go. A celebration of Helen's wonderful life will be held with her family and friends in the Wairarapa in December.
