Hartsville Man Killed In Crash
Hartsville - November 11 - Special: James Rodger Bass, twenty-one years old, was killed instantly about 5:00 o’clock this afternoon when the motorcycle he was riding collided with an automobile at Lee’s Cross Roads. The driver of the automobile was not immediately identified.
Bass was employed at the plant of the Sonoco Products Company here.
Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Troy Jackson and Mrs. Lloyd Smith, of Dunn, North Carolina; Mrs. Rufus Richardson, of Mullins, and a brother, David Lee Bass, of Hartsville.
Funeral services will be held at 4 o’clock tomorrow afternoon at the Brown-Pennington Funeral Home. The Reverend A.C. McGee, pastor of Mount Elon Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery.
