Gerald R. Bass
Gerald R. "Jerry" Bass, age 68, of Shell Knob, Mo., passed away Monday, July 6, 2015, in his home.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m.
Thursday, July 9, 2015, in Walnut Valley Memorial Park, El Dorado, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Shell Knob. Pastor Chet Shaw will conduct the services.
Jerry was born Aug. 8, 1946, in Emporia, the son of Lois Nadine (Jones) and Roy Everett Bass. On Jan. 8, 1966, he was united in marriage to Norma Jean Irvine, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Gerie Bass of Wichita and Wendy Browning and her husband, Sean of Willard, Mo.; one brother, Ronald Bass and his wife, Judy of Shell Knob; one sister, Rita Fife and her husband, Bob of Wichita; three grandchildren, Michael Spies of Huntington Beach, California and Ashli Browning and Luke Browning of Willard, Mo.,; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents.
Jerry grew up and received his education in Kansas and moved to Missouri upon his retirement in 2002, from Boeing in Wichita. His favorite pastimes were camping and boating. He and his brother, Ron were always busy fixing and building things. He especially enjoyed his grandchildren.
He was a member of Lakeside Christian Church of Shell Knob, where A Celebration of Life will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday, July 24, 2015.
