Charlie Bassett Jr.
Cookeville - Charlie Bassett Jr., age 58, died Thursday, February 10, 2000 at his home. Memorial Service will be Sunday, Feb. 13 at 3 p.m. at Cookeville Chapel of Hooper & Huddleston Funeral Home. He was born December 11, 1941 in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late Charlie Sr. and Dimple Greenwood Bassett. He served as a first lieutenant in the U.S. Army. He was a graduate of the U.T. School of Pharmacy and had been employed as a pharmacist at Eckerd Drugs of Cookeville since 1991. He was a graduate of Tennessee Tech University. He was a member of Cookeville First United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Janey Sharpe Bassett of Cookeville, one daughter, Rebecca Bassett of Cookeville; two sons and daughter-in-law, Dan & Casey Bassett of Hermitage, TN, Matthew Bassett of Cookeville; and one sister, Martha Uselton of Murfreesboro, TN; one granddaughter, Avery Elizabeth of Hermitage, TN; several nieces and nephews. Brother Harvey Neufeldt will officiate. Family will receive friends Sunday, Feb. 13 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Honorary Pallbearers will be Pathfinders Sunday School Class of Cookeville First United Methodist Church and All Friends at Ben of the River.
