  Notes	News and Observer Raleigh, North Carolina Sunday, April 12, 1936 Selby Bass Fremont - Selby Bass, 58, prominent Wilson County farmer, died at a Wilson hospital Saturday morning at 10 o’clock following an illness of several months. Funeral services will be held from the Black Creek Church Sunday afternoon at 3:30 o’clock with Elder J.D. Fly of Rocky Mount officiating. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Frances Ferrell Bass; three sons, Thurman, Elisha, and Burden Bass; seven daughters, Mrs. Lula Barnes, Mrs. Thelma Rose, Mrs. Lillian Rose, Mrs. Minnie Boyette, Mrs. Nora Rose, and Miss Emma Bass, all of the Black Creek community, and Mrs. Mary Dickerson of Elm City, and two sisters, Mrs. Borden Scott and Mrs. W.A. Barnes of the Black Creek community. News and Observer Raleigh, North Carolina Sunday, April 12, 1936 Selby Bass Wilson - Selby Bass, prominent sixty-year-old Black Creek farmer, died in a local hospital this morning around 9 o’clock. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Frances Bass, and three brothers, Anderson, Elisha and Hardy, all of Black Creek; two sisters, Mrs. Polly Scott, and Mrs. Lula Barnes; three sons, Elisha, Thurman, and Burden, and six daughters, Mrs. Thelma Rose, Mrs. Lillie Rose, Mrs. Nolia Rose, Mrs. Emma Bass, Mrs. Mae Dickerson, Mrs. Minnie Boyette and Miss Roxie Bass, all of Black Creek. Funeral services will be held from the Black Creek Church tomorrow afternoon at 2 o’clock and will be conducted by the Reverend Mr. Fly. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
