Billy Glenn Bass (Picture included)

Billy Glenn Bass, 79, passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at home with his loving family by his side.
Graveside Service: 2:00 P.M. Saturday at Jaybird Cemetery, Springtown.
Visitation: 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. Saturday at White's Azle Funeral Home.
Bill was born June 18, 1936 in his family country home in Joplin to the late Alta Clare and Thorbin Bass.
He was a strong Christian that loved his church, friends and singing with them in the choir.
Bill was a Mason, passed Master of Riverside Lodge #834 and Order of the Eastern Star. He loved playing the steel guitar and was a member of the Texas Steel Guitar Association. Bill was an avid deer hunter and loved to go fishing.
He worked for the Star Telegram, starting at the age of 13, doing walking routes, then bought his first car got his drivers license and did car routes. Bill also worked for Foremost Dairy for 10 years, Ernest Alen Chevrolet and Bruce Allen Chevrolet. He retired from Tarrant County after 23 years.
Bill was preceded in death by wife, Alice.
The family wishes to thank all who cared for him during his last illness.
Survivors: Wife of 63 years, Virginia Bass; daughters, Glenda Bass, Brenda Harrist and husband, Jimmy, Debbie McIlroy and husband, Jim; stepchildren, Raye Ann Worthington, Karen Selby and Cindy Sheppard; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and the love of his life, German Shepherd, Shanna.

Virginia Ruth Bass (Roper) passed away Tuesday, December 14, 2021.
Graveside Service: 1:00 P.M. Monday, December 27, 2021 at Jaybird Cemetery.
Visitation: 10 to 12 (noon) Monday, December 27, 2021 prior to the service at White?s Azle Funeral Home.
Virginia Ruth Roper was born October 18, 1936 in Fort Worth, Texas to Walter and Blanche Ward.
She met and married the love of her life in August of 1955.
Virginia was a child of God and is now rejoicing at home with her Savior and her husband.
She was preceded In death by her parents; and husband, Billy Glenn Bass;
Survivors: Daughters, Glenda Bass, Brenda Harrist (Jimmy), and Debbie McIlroy (Jim); grandchildren, Betsy DeAnda, Tammie Herring (Cody), Jennifer Steele (Jeremy), Kacey Ulrich (Nick), Halston Harrist (Sarah), Jody McIlroy (Tammie), Cole McIlroy (Brittany); 15 great-grandchildren; and many other extended family members and friends.
