  Notes	State Columbia, South Carolina Saturday, January 25, 1941 Mrs. Eva Bass of Darlington Dies Darlington, January 24 - (Special) - Mrs. Eva C. Bass, 64, died at her home on Smith Avenue in Darlington last night. She was the widow of Caleb Bass. Mrs. Bass was formerly Miss Eva Culpepper, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Culpepper. Born and reared in Darlington County, she had lived in this section of the state all of her life. She was a member of the Central Baptist church. She is survived by two sons, Hansell Bass, W. Keith Bass of Darlington, and the following step-children; Mrs. R.B. Byrd, Mrs. L.R. Purvis, Lavern Bass, Leon Bass of Danville, Virginia. Surviving also is a niece, Mrs. Z. H. Holliday of Maxton, North Carolina. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Kistler Funeral home in Darlington, conducted by her pastor, the Reverend James A. Bowers, assisted by a former pastor of the church, The Reverend J.A. Rogers, of Florence. Interment will take place in Swift Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, near here.
