Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. A 39-year Spokane resident, Mr. Bass died Monday. He was born in Leachville, Ark. He worked as a salesman for Joey August Distributors for several years. He retired in 1988. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church. He also coached basketball in the Spokane Valley Church league and for the Spokane Cyclones Wheelchair basketball team. Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Julie; two sons, James Bass of Veradale and Jon Bass of St. John, Wash.; three daughters, Christi Parman and Gwen Dutt, both of Spokane, and Sandy Lidell of Post Falls; two sisters, Joann Baker and Peggy Cash, both of Missouri; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Spokane or Christ Lutheran Church.
