  Notes	The Tribune-Press, Gouverneur, N.Y., June 8, 1983 Lillian M. Basset Lillian M. Bassett, 84, formerly of 95 Clinton St., widow of Leon Bassett, died Monday, June 6, at 4:25 p.m. in United Helpers Home, Canton, where she had been a patient since Oct. 2, 1981. The funeral will be Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. at Burr-Green Funeral Home with Rev. Richard C. McCaughey, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Wayside Cemetery, Richville. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Gene Marilyn Knight, Johnson City, Texas; a son, Alvin, Fort Pierce, Fla.; four granchildren, Mrs. Landon Holly Weaver, Richville, Stephen Rice, Lompoc, Calif., and Bonnie and Robert Bassett, Fla., three great-grandcdhildren and two sisters, Mrs. Florence Smith, Weavertown, Calif., and Mrs. Madeline Dutcher, Long Beach, Calif. She was born in Tappan, N.J. May 19, 1899, daughter of Fred and minnie Everson Westervelt, and was married to Leon A. Bassett in New York City Sept. 17, 1919. They lived in Lee, Mass. while he was employed as a welder by General Electric in Pitssfield, Mass., from 1921 until 1956. They later moved to Richville and to 24 Hallesboro St. in the village. Mr. Bassett died April 8, 1957. Mrs. Bassett was employed as a housekeeper in St. Mary’s rectory, Odgensburg, from 1962 to 1965. She had lived most recently at 95 Clinton St.
