Robert Bass
Roxboro, May 13 - Funeral services for Robert Bass, 90, will be conducted from the New St. James Baptist Church Tuesday at 2 p.m. by the Reverend Andrew Chavis, pastor. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Bass was born in Person County, a son of George Cozart and Lucinda Bass. He died at the home of his son, Lin Bass, of Route 1, Timberlake, Saturday at 3 p.m. after a long illness.
He was first married to Martha Allen Bass. To this union eight children were born, five of whom survive. Later he was married to the late Mary Harris Bass. He was a member of New St. James Baptist Church for a number of years.
Surviving are four sons, Sam Bass of Rougemont, Henry Bass of Timberlake, Earlie Bass of Roxboro and Lin Bass of the home; a daughter, Mrs. Nancy Warren of Timberlake; a sister, Mrs. Ada Lawson of Rougemont; a brother, Pete Lawson of Rougemont, and 32 grandchildren.
