Another Old Resident
Mrs. Joseph Bassett, of Owasco street, died Thursday in the eighty-fourth year of her age. The deceased has been a resident of Auburn for the past eighty-two years, and was known as a lady of fine social qualities and Christian character. Her husband had been dead about twenty-five years. Mrs. Bassett leaves five children, Mrs. Albertson, who lives in the town of Fleming; Mrs. Durkee of this city; Mrs. Thomas Y. How, formerly of Auburn, but now living in Oregon and two sons David and William Bassett who reside in Plymouth, Mich. Mrs. Bassett was a dweller in the city almost from its beginning and had a most retentive memory which was drawn upon frequently and freely by those who have been engaged in writing anything of a historical nature in regard to the city.
