Bassett - Painter The Naples News Thursday, May 22, 1902 Death of Cyrus Bassett Another of the older and well known residents of Naples passed away last Friday in the person of Cyrus Bassett. He died at the home of his surviving daughter, Mrs. Jane Odell, at Independence, New York, aged 70 years. So long as we can remember Mr. Bassett had resided in Naples. He was a painter by trade and had done a great amount of work throughout this vicinity. He was of genial disposition and always had a pleasant word for everyone. His wife died many years ago, and one daughter, Mrs. Jessie Hinckley, nearly twenty years ago. For about two years Mr. Bassett had been in poor health and had resided with his children. His only surviving son, Ward, resides in town and with his wife attended the funeral of his father, which was held Sunday at Independence, and the interment was at that place.
