She moved to Gratiot County, Michigan with her parents at the age of three years. In 1869, she was united in marriage to Edward C. Bassett, soon after going to the pioneer home in Otsego County. In 1882, them moved to their farm home in Livonia township. Since Mr. Bassett's death seven years ago, Mrs. Bassett has lived with her children in the same community. She had been a long, and patient sufferer for over nine years. She leaves to mourn their loss four sons and three daughters: Mrs. Thomas Davey, Floyd Bassett, Mrs. Edgar Cochran, Mrs. Allen Geer, Clark, Harry and James Bassett; twenty-four grandchildren, five sisters and many other relatives and friends. The deceased was a member of the Newburg Church and L.A.S., the Gleaners, Patriotic Society and W.C.T.U., where she will be greatly missed by all. The funeral services were held at the Newburg Church, Monday, Dec. 5th. Burial in Riverside Cemetery.
