Arthur Bass
Arthur S. Bass, 77, of West Milton died Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2000, at the Upper Valley Medical Center in Troy.
He was born on July 25, 1923 in Greenville.
He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Anna Mae (Clemmons) Bass.
He is survived by his wife Beverly Hester of West Milton; his daughters and sons-in-law Jean and Tom Strapp of Urbana and Rita and Doug Greene of Mooreville of North Carolina; son David Bass of Moscow, Idaho; brothers Joe and Roy; sister Pat Cress, Donna and Jim Melton and Mary Helton; two grandchildren.
He is a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army Calvary, a life member of the American Legion Post 487 in West Milton and the VFW Post 4874 in Piqua and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 3621 in West Milton.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Barford Funeral Home, 945 S. Miami St., West Milton, with the Rev. Karl Yoder officiating. The American Legion and the Milton-Union O of E conducted veteran?s services at the funeral home. Private burial services will be held later.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Miami County Hospice or Multiple Sclerosis Society.
