John (Bill) Bass
Farmville - John William (Bill) Bass, 70, died of a heart attack at his home Saturday at 4 p.m. Funeral services will be held from the home Sunday at 3:30 p.m. conducted by the Reverend H.L. Davis, Methodist minister, assisted by the Reverend S.B. Denny, Primitive Baptist minister. Interment will be in Hollywood Cemetery here. Mr. Bass had resided in Farmville for the past 25 years and retired several years ago as a farmer. He was a member of the Woodmen of the World. Surviving are his wife, the former Addie Owens; two daughters, Mrs. J.M. Wheless Jr., of Farmville and Mrs. Max E. McLeod of Dunn; two sons, Leroy and Lyman Bass of Farmville; seven grandchildren.
