      AUBURN - Florence Bassett, 92, died Wednesday at 5:10 p.m. in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.
      Mrs. Bassett retired in 1970 from Dana Corp. with 29 years of service. She was a homemaker and a former employee of the Auburn Automobile Co. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, its United Methodist Women Nellie Weaver Circle and the Loyal Missionary Sunday School classs. She was a charter member of the Garrett Eagles Lodge and Auburn Cord Duesenberg Women's Club. She was a member of the DeKalb Order of Eastern Star.
      She was born Aug. 5, 1906, in Spencerville to the late William L. and Rosie B. (Parmer) Church.
      She married Ora E. Bassett on Nov. 27, 1924, in Auburn, and he died in 1967.
      Surviving her are one son, Argyle L. of Auburn; one daughter, Donna J. McDaniel of Auburn; two sisters, Alice I Shaffer of Garrett and Ruth N. Wilmot of Auburn; eight grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
      She was preceded in death by one daughter, Margaret, one grandchild, Beau; six brothers, ira, Clarence, Williams, Charles, Floyd and George; and three sisters, Belle, Viola and Mima.
      Friends may call Sunday from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. in McComb, Dilgard & Cline Funeral home, Auburn.
      Her funeral service will begin Monday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home, with the Rev. J. Wilbur Yates and the Rev. William Kaster officiating. Burial will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery, Auburn.
      Memorial contributions may be given to the First United Methodist Church or Youth For Christ.

      Florence Bassett, 92, died Wednesday at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. Born in Spencerville, she was a laborer with Dana for 29 years, retiring in 1970. Surviving are a daughter, Donna J. McDaniel of Auburn; a son, Argyl L. of Auburn; two sisters, Alice I Shaffer of Garrett and Ruth N. Wilmot of Auburn; eight grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. Her husband, Ora E., died in 1967. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Margaret. Services at 11 a.m. Monday at McComb, Dilgard & Cline Funeral Home, Auburn, with calling from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Auburn. Memorials to First United Methodist Church or to Youth for Christ.
