Shirley Parker Bass

Shirley was born to Marvin Aster Parker and Vivian Howell Parker of Great Bridge on April 10, 1937 and died on January 9, 2022. Shirley was a caring person with a strong core when necessary. That carried her through difficult times and her true love of god. Her parents proceeded in death. Her first husband William Eugene Todd. Two sons Gary Lee and Timothy Parker Todd also proceeded her. Another son William Eugene Todd Jr lives in Arizona. Her second husband William Hartwell Bass Jr here in Chesapeake. Her siblings Brenda Buchs Al also here in Chesapeake and Marvin Aster Parker Jr in Florida.
Shirley loved her large family and school mates from Great Bridge Schools. She was many things to many people. The most important was being an adoring mother and grandmother. As well as a devoted wife. She was very compassionate and it showed with her work in social services. Later, in life she became an exceptional real estate agent. Shirley had a great love for fashion and had a elegant style. Oh! And breyers ice cream always having a bowl at night. She was always excited to travel and went many places. Her favorite being Cancun Mexico. Sipping on her pina colada?s virgin of course.
Shirley was not short of tragedies in her life but one thing was for sure she always handled it with grace and was one of the strongest people. She was nothing short of extraordinary and will be missed dearly and never forgotten.
