Services Tuesday For Ora Bassett
Retired Warner-Motive Division Machinist had been
in Failing Health for the Past Ten Years
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Dilgard & Cline funeral home in Auburn for Ora Ellis Bassett, 74, who resided at 321 North Clark street, Auburn.
The Rev. Wallace Deyo, pastor of the First Methodist church in Auburn, will officiate at the services and he will be assisted by the Associate pastor of the church, Rev. Carl O. Wiry. Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery, near Auburn.
Mr. Bassett died at 7 p.m. Saturday at the DeKalb Memorial Hospital in Auburn from complications following an illness of 10 years.
He entered the hospital 10 days before his death.
He was born Feb. 21, 1893, in Defiance, O., the son of the late George and Ida Blair Bassett. In a ceremony performed at the First Methodist church in Auburn in 1924, he and Florence Church were married.
Mr. Bassett was a retired machinist at the Warner-Motive Division in Auburn. He was a member of the First Methodist church, the Methodist Men's club and the Eagles lodge of Garrett.
Survivors include the widow; a daughter, Mrs. Howard McDaniel of Rt. 2, Auburn; a son, Argyle Bassett of 110 East Fourth street, Auburn; seven grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Cora Derrow, of Orland.
