Mrs. Kathrine Bass
Hartsville, January 21 - Special - Mrs. Kathrine Bass, eighty-five, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. M. C. Galloway, near Lydia, this morning at 11:45 o’clock after an illness of three weeks. She was the widow of George W. Bass, a Confederate veteran who preceded her to the grave forty-two years ago. She was born and reared in Darlington County.
Surviving Mrs. Bass are four sons, Hood Bass and George W. Basss, of Darlington County; H.L. Bass, of Johnsonville; and Ernest T. Bass, of Hartsville; four daughters, Mrs. W.H. Middleton, of Chesterfield County; Mrs. C. Wayne Galloway and Mrs. M.C. Galloway, of Darlington County, and Mrs. L.E. Dampier, of Lee County.
Funeral services will be held at the Brown Funeral Home at 3:30 o’clock tomorrow afternoon, conducted by the Reverend J.R. Johnson, pastor of the Methodist Church. Interment will be made at Magnolia Cemetery.
