Clifford Bass
Clifford Bass, a life-long resident of Springbrook, died on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2004, at Spooner Health System Nursing Home.
He was born on Aug. 11, 1912, in Evanston, Iowa, to Jesse and Martha (McGuire) Bass. He lived for most of his life in Springbrook until he was admitted to the nursing home unit of Spooner Health System in July 1999.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a logger for Christman Brothers Logging in Lampson until his retirement in 1974. He enjoyed hunting, football, baseball, and reading books.
Clifford is survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Newt, Warren, Glen, Jack 'Kenneth,' and Worth 'Pete' Bass; and sisters, Aldora Morse and Genieva Needles.
A gathering of friends and family was held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 17, at Dahl Funeral Home in Spooner. A graveside service will be held in the spring at Earl Cemetery.
