  Notes	Luther Bass Tuesday, February 9, 1954 ROGERSVILLE (Spl) ? Luther Bass, 56, veteran of World War I, died unexpectedly Monday at the home of Lonnie Feaggins, Church Hill. Funeral services will be held at Shady Grove Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Thursday. The Rev. Sam Smith will officiated. The VFW and the American Legion will have charge of grave services. The body will be removed to the home of Mrs. Alf Ferrell, at Surgoinsville, Wednesday at 4 p.m. from Colboch-Price Funeral Home. Son of the late Joe and Rosa Bass of Rogersville, he is survived by four children, Charles and Jim Bass of Laurel, Md., Miss Margaret Lee Bass and Miss Lena Ruth Bass, also of Maryland; five sisters, Mrs. Maggie Britton and Mrs. Ferrell of Surgoinsville, Mrs. Emma Lawson and Mrs. Nappie Davis of Rogersville, Mrs. Mary Hensley of Greeneville, and several grandchildren. He was an uncle of Sgt. J.D. Britton of Surgoinsville, former prisoner of war in Korea.
