Memorial Service for Orson Alma Bassett
A memorial service for Orson Alma Bassett will be held Thursday September 2, 2010 at 11 a.m. in the Grover Ward LDS Chapel. Military honors will take place immediately after the service at the Afton Cemetery, conducted by the local American Legion Post 46 and VFW Post 4797.

Grover man killed in one-vehicle accident
A Grover man was killed in a one-vehicle accident at 7:50 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 26.
According to a formal accident report released by the Wyoming Highway Patrol on Sunday, Aug. 29, Orson A. Bassett, 63, Grover, WY, was driving a 1994 GMC Pickup south bound on WYO 89 18 miles north of Cokeville.
The WHP report noted his vehicle drifted off the right side of the roadway and struck a delineator post.
The vehicle continued off the roadway and struck a guardrail end and face, causing the vehicle to rotate clockwise and travel over the guardrail. The vehicle then re-entered the roadway and overturned two complete times.
The WHP reported Bassett, who was not wearing a seat belt, was totally ejected from the vehicle and the vehicle came to rest on its wheels in the middle of the roadway blocking both lanes of travel. The driver landed 35 feet from the vehicle in the roadway. He died at the scene of the accident.
WYO 89 was closed for three hours during the investigation.
