  Notes	Find-a-Grave Obituary Vada Lorraine Bass Voils Vada Lorraine Voils, 88, of Eufaula, passed away Sunday, January 18, 2009, at her home. Vada was born on April 2, 1920, in Checotah, Oklahoma, the daughter of William Henry and Ruby Louise (Pickering) Bass. She graduated from Wewoka High School. On August 5, 1940, Vada married Ray Voils in Eufaula. Together they raised four children. They were happily married for sixty-eight years. Vada was initiated in the Eufaula Eastern Star on April 8, 1980. She became the first Worthy Matron when the new Temple opened in 1983. During her membership, she served in all elected offices. Vada was a lifetime member of the Eufaula First United Methodist Church. She was active in the United Methodist Women for over 50 years, holding numerous offices, working at the church bazaars and helping in many other ways. She also served on many different committees in the church and was very supportive of the youth program. Vada and Ray worked hard taking food to the sick and homebound. She loved her family, her friends and her cats. Survivors include: her husband, Ray, of the home; her son, Ray Voils, of Sallisaw; her daughters, Iva and David George of Canadian and Judy and Floyd Smith of Eufaula; her brother, Vernon Bass and wife Kaylene of Eufaula and her sister, Ida Brixey of Eufaula. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Denny Smith, John George and his wife Audrea, Ingrid Fells and her husband Ray, Scotty Voils, Nicole George Cook and James Henry Voils and nine great grandchildren. Vada is preceded in death by her parents and one daughter and son-in-law, Joan Carol and Walt Longstreet. Memorial contributions may be made to the Eufaula First United Methodist Church Building Fund for the new youth room.Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 22, 2009, at the First United Methodist Church with Dr. John Breon officiating. Pallbearers are Denny Smith, John George, Ray Fells, Jimmy Padgett, Noah Rains, Arlis Pratt and Dewey Grigsby. Honorary pallbearers are past and present members of the United Methodist Women. Burial will follow at the Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Hunn, Black and Merritt Funeral Home and Crematory.
