The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Solid Rock Missionary Baptist Church in Laurinburg by the Rev. Anderson Barnes. Burial will be in Stewartville Cemetery in Laurinburg. Mr. Bass is survived by a daughter, Jane Nicholson of Hamlet, N.C.; a son, Clyde Bass of Hamlet; five stepdaughters, Louise Biggs of Laurinburg, and Minnie McKinney, Mable Findley, Betty J. Thomas and Deloris Moore, all of Youngstown; two stepsons, Jeffery Campbell of Laurinburg and Edward Thomas of Youngstown; two sisters, Ethel L. Covington of Providence, R.I., and Hattie Lee of Long Island, N.Y.; a brother, Lonnie Stubbs Sr. of Laurinburg; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; 28 step-grandchildren; and 64 step-great-grandchildren. The public will be received today beginning at 2 p.m. until time for the service Wednesday at Jackson Funeral Home of Laurinburg.
