      Monday, February 3. Important Sale of Choice Sheep. The undersigned has received instructions from Mr. William T. Bassett to sell, at his residence, near Otahuhu, on Monday, February 3, at noon, His Flock of Pure-Bred Improved Leicester Sheep, probably the heaviest woolled Leicesters at present in this province.       The sale of sheep held yesterday at Mr. Bassett’s farm, Otahuhu, was very largely attended. The stock sold were long-woolled and of good quality, but not in first class condition. The whole of the flock were freely competed for, and satisfactory prices obtained. For one of the imported sheep there was keen competition, and it was finally sold for 52 guineas, other imported rams 20 pounds and 8 guineas respectively. The shearling rams brought 7 guineas each. Shearling rams of best quality from 9 guineas to 12 guineas; infirm sheep from 3 guineas each; ram lambs, from 40s. to 80s.; aged ewes, 40s. to 45s.; shearling ewes, 63s. to 84s.; ewe lambs, 50s. to 60s.per head.
