David Joe Bass, 54, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday (August 31, 2011) at his home.
The son of Clyde Eugene and Wilma Louise (Cathey) Bass, he was born September 17, 1956 in Iowa City, Iowa. On August 27, 1994 in Kirksville, Missouri, David was united in marriage to Donna Spray.
David is survived by his wife Donna; his mother, Wilma Clifton of Kirksville, Missouri; one son and daughter-in-law, David A. and Chrissy Bass of St. Louis, Missouri; three daughters, Briannachantel Bass, April Bass and Alyssia Brieanne Bass all of Kirksville, Missouri; one stepson, Dakotah Eitel of Moberly, Missouri; one sister, Cheryl Bass and husband, Mike Cima of Greentop, Missouri; four grandchildren, Cody, Ryan, Katie and Alex, as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father; one sister, Charlotte Dawson and his stepfather, Bob Clifton.
David was a resident of Kirksville since the age of ten and received his education in the Kirksville public schools. He owned a painting and decorating business for a number of years, which he thoroughly enjoyed.
He was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church of Kirksville. David was deeply spiritual and always trusted that God would take care of him. He will be sadly missed by many.
Public visitation will be held Saturday (September 3, 2011) with family receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday (September 4, 2011) at Travis-Noe Funeral Home, with Pastor Larry Gibson officiating. Interment will follow the service at Highland Park Cemetery in Kirksville.

Francis Elmo Bass, son of Ray Lionell and Charity Stella (Cloyd) Bass, was born 13 Sep 1921 in Springifeld, Greene County, Missouri. He died 25 Aug 1993 in Roswell, Chaves County, New Mexico. He married Pearl May Jones. She was born in 1925. She died in 2011. He married (2) Pauline Elizabeth Carroll. She was born in 1923. She died in 1992.
