Pioneer Osceolan Edna Bass Williams
Edna Bass Williams, a lifelong Kissimmee resident and member of a pioneer Osceola family, died Friday. She was 88 years old and lived at 1360 Lakeshore Drive.''My dear, you don't have enough time to listen to all the wonderful things about my mother,'' said Betty Martin, Mrs. Williams' daughter. ''She was just a good person.''Mrs. Williams was the second-to-the-youngest of Mann and Annie Yates Bass's eight children. Her late husband was Steve Williams, a fellow native Osceolan.Williams was a licensed practical nurse, a comforter in every sense of the word.''She was always for the underdog,'' said Martin. ''She was always helping young people. She loved children.''Mrs. Doc ''Petie'' Partin, agrees.''She was such a help to her sister, Mrs. H.O. Partin,'' said Partin. Mrs. H.O. ''Bertha'' Partin was Partin's mother-in-law. ''And she always loved children. She kept my children so I could go horseback riding with my husband.''Mrs. Williams was a member of First Christian Church, Kissimmee.In addition to her daughter, Betty of Kissimmee, Mrs. Williams is survived by a son, Dr. Jack L., Nashville, Arkansas; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.Visitation for friends will be from 5-9 p.m. Monday at Grissom Funeral Home, Kissimmee. Graveside Funeral Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Rose Hill Cemetery with the Reverend James G. Radebaugh, of the Church of the Messiah-Episcopal, Winter Garden, officiating.
