Linda K. Johnson of Dowagiac
Passed away September 2, 2004 at Bronson Methodist Hospital after a two week illness. Linda was born in Dowagiac, MI, on April 28, 1950. She was a Plant Dispatcher for American Axel in Three Rivers, where she worked for 24 years. Linda was also a past secretary of Second Baptist Church, where she was a member. She was also a member of united Auto Workers and National Association Advancement of Colored People. Linda was also a member of Dowagiac Garden Club and enjoyed golf, fishing and traveling. Linda was happy when her boys and family were at her home. On April 19, 1969, she was married to Van Johnson, who survives. She is also survived by two sons, Ryan Johnson of Kalamazoo and Van Johnson Jr. (Jodi) of Sterling Heights, MI; two sisters, Janet (Carrol) Ivens of Marcellus and Glennis Godbee of Grand Rapids; two brothers, Kenneth Bass Jr. of Columbus, OH and Ronald Bass of Niles, MI. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Conyer and Michael Bass. Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 7, 2004 at the Groner Funeral Home, 301 Main St., Dowagiac. Services will be held Wednesday, September 8, 2004 at 3:00 p.m. at Second Baptist Church of Dowagiac, Rev. H.C. Smith officiating. Cremation will follow the funeral service.
