PEARL MAY McCLELLAND, daughter of James William and Tillie May Whitwell Jones, was born August 27, 1925, in Mitchell, Nebraska and departed this life September 9, 2011, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty-six years. Pearl accepted Christ as her Savior on March 24, 1975, and was baptized on Mothers day, May 11, 1975. She was a member of Southern Heights Christian Church for a few years before transferring her membership to Ozark Hills Freewill Baptist Church. She loved her Pastor and church family. Pearl enjoyed participating in church dinners and fundraisers. When she would leave church on Sunday evening, she couldnt hardly wait for the next Sunday so she could fellowship with her church family again. She was a devout Christian and lived her life accordingly. On August 13, 1976, she was united in marriage with Forest Dunn McClelland. Forest preceded her in death on January 3, 2005. Pearl waitressed in the Laclede County area for more then forty-five years. However, when Pearl wasnt tending to her children, waitressing, or doing household chores, she was very active in the community. She was a charter member of the Rippy FCE Club, where the motto was Helping Hands. She was also a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. In fact, the VFW had recently awarded Pearl with the lifetime membership. The friendships she made through the years with other members were very important to her. Pearl loved flowers. She would walk through her flower garden every Spring and pick fresh bouquets for the house. She also enjoyed receiving flowers from family and friends. She was always in awe of them and very appreciative. The smallest things in life were always the most important to Pearl. She is survived by two sons, David L. Bass and his wife Helen of Falcon, MO, and Roger A. Bass and his wife Lisa of Lebanon, MO; three daughters, Dorothy M. Goodwin and her husband Waymon of Buda, TX, Thresia J. Mitchell of New Braumfels, TX and Sheryl L. Winkel and her husband Duane of Lebanon, MO; two brothers, Chester R. Jones and his wife Donna of Falcon, MO and her twin brother, Earl R. Jones of Lebanon, MO; fourteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; other relatives, church family and many dear friends. Pearl was also preceded in death by her parents; her step father, Charles Nichols; two sisters, Viola and Dorothy Pender; four brothers, Ester E., Ulis A. James E. and Lloyd W. Jones; and one grandson, Roger Andrew Andy Bass. Pearl was a loving mother, caring grandmother, cherished sister and loyal friend. Those who had the pleasure of knowing her through the years will miss the laughter but cherish the memories. Our loss is Heavens gain.
