David Bass
MUNCIE ? David C. Bass died Oct. 6 in a sailboat accident on Folsom Lake in California. The search for his body has been halted due to severe storms in the area, but is to be resumed when the bad weather subsides, according to word received by his parents, Hubert C. and Yvonne Bass of Muncie.
Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 1900 N. Morrison Road, Muncie.
Bass had been employed as personnel analyst for the state of California and had just been accepted by the law school at the University of California.
Surviving are the widow, Loraine, Sacramento, Calif.; a daughter, Dana Bass of 1808 Arrow Ave.; a sister in Washington, D.C.; and a number of relatives in the Anderson area.

David Clinton Bass
Services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday in the Unitarian-Universalist Church, 1900 N. Morrison, for David Clinton Bass, 28, formerly of Muncie, whose body was found Wednesday evening in Folsom Lake, Sacramento, Calif., after he drowned Oct. 6 in a sailboating accident.
He had been missing since he was thrown from the boat during high winds.
Mr. Bass had been accepted to attend the University of California School of Law after graduating in 1972 from California State University. He attended Muncie schools and Ball State University. He left Muncie in 1969 for California.
Mr. Bass served in the U.S. Navy 2 1/2 years. His duty included service aboard the USS Aldebaran in the Mediterranean.
At BSU, he was a member of Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity.
Survivors include his wife, the former Loraine Harris, Fort Wayne, now residing in Sacramento; a daughter, Dana Bass, Anderson; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Clinton Bass, Muncie; and a sister, Rita A. Bass, Washington, D.C.
Rev. Michael O'Kelly will officiate at services, with assistance from representatives of the fraternity and the Navy.
