  Notes	Boone News Republican July 8, 1971 LeRoy Bass, 70, Stratford Stratford (Special) - LeRoy Bass, 70, of Stratford, died Wednesday, July 7, at the Boone County Hospital after suffering a heart attack. He farmed in the Stratford community for a number of years and then was custodian of the Stratford Schools from 1954 until 1967, when he retired.Mr. Bass, son of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Douglas Bass, was born March 8, 1901 in Boone County. He was married to Mildred Waller on February 26, 1925 at Ridgeport.Survivors include his widow, Mildred; two sons, Carl of Clare, Iowa, and Richard of Fort Dodge; two daughters, Mrs. Lois DeFrain of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Mrs. Annabelle Blakely of Dumont, Iowa; a brother, Floyd Bass of Pilot Mound; four sisters, Mrs. Irene Stolte and Mrs. Minnie Swanson, both of Boone, Mrs. Leona Runn of Stratford, and Mrs. Dorothy Burkey of Eldon, Missouri; and several grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Marcella; three brothers; and two sisters.Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 10, at 1:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church at Stratford, with the Reverend Harold Richardson in charge. Burial will be at the Hardin Township Cemetery.Friends may call at the Hanson-Stark-Welin Funeral Home, Stratford, on Thursday, from 7 to 9 p.m., on Friday, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and on Saturday, from 9 to 11 a.m. when the casket will be taken to the church.
