Keith Lewis Bassett
Keith Lewis Bassett, 39, of Amarillo died Tuesday, June 19, 2012.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2101 N. Coulter Street. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Keith was born December 3, 1972, in Gridley City, California, to Bob and Karen Bergstrom Bassett. He graduated from Yuba City High School and Cypress College Mortuary school in California. He married the love of his life, Stefani Dahle, on May 25, 1995, in Oakland, California. Keith was a family man. He was a lifetime member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The church was a great part of his entire life. It was on a field trip with Boy Scouts with his church as a teenager to a funeral home that he first discovered he wanted to be a funeral director. His wife and his children meant the world to him. They moved to Amarillo in 2000. Keith was the owner/operator of Bassett's A to D Mortuary Services. He served funeral homes in Amarillo and the Texas Panhandle. Keith was always known to be professional, kind and always willing to help in any way needed. Keith taught the youth Crime Scene Investigation program at Amarillo College, where he loved working with the youth. He will be dearly missed by his family and many friends. Survivors include his wife, Stefani; a son, Chandler Bassett; three daughters, Mikayla Bassett, Marisa Bassett and Madilyn Bassett; his mother, Karen Bassett of Rupert, Idaho; his father, Bob Bassett and wife Jovita of Yuba City, California; three brothers, Brian Bassett and wife Heather of Colusa, California, Matthew Bassett and wife Kierston of Aramosa, Colorado, and Todd Bassett and wife Jennifer of Oak Harbor, Washington; two sisters, Kristine Hansen and husband Lynn of Delco, Idaho, and Amber Pepple and husband Chris of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; his grandmothers, Norma Cahill and Arlene Bergstrum; and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Fred and Marilyn Dahle of Amarillo.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
