Martin Clyde Bassett of Lubbock passed away on Monday, February 9, 2015 at the age of 72. He was born July 12, 1942 in Los Angeles, California to Hubert Clyde and June Lorainne (Calapp) Bassett. Martin graduated from Gridley Union High School and joined the U.S Navy. After discharge he worked as a machinist and welder until retiring. Martin married Nedra Davis May 30, 1966 in Reno, Nevada. He enjoyed rebuilding and working on model cars and was a member of the Caprock Ward.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of more than 48 years, Nedra; six sons, Eric, Darin, Christopher, Chris M., Ted and Brendan Bassett; three daughters, Allison McBride, Dawn Scott, and Aften Flake; mother, June Bassett; four siblings; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Martin was preceded in death by his father; one brother; and one grandson.
Visitation will be 1:00 - 6:00 p.m. Thursday, February 12, 2015 at Combest Family Funeral Homes. Graveside services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 13, 2015 at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park.
