Gerald Allen Bass, 73, of Port Charlotte, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 28th at Tidewell Hospice House in Port Charlotte.
Mr. Bass was the owner and operator of Gerald's Haircutting Studio in Port Charlotte, for over 27 years and had a variety of clientele. Gerald, as he was known to his clients, also was the founder of the Japan Iaido Foundation, Inc., which taught Iaido, Kendo, and Aikido to his students for many years. He was well respected by all who trained under him.
Gerald accomplished much in his life but his greatest accomplishment was his marriage to Pamela, his loving wife of 38 years, and their son, Nicholas, (Trish) of Hominy, Oklahoma, and grandson, Jareth. He is also survived by his sister, Connie Clark (Jim) of Pompano Beach, and relatives in Jupiter, FL, Austin, TX, Peoria, Illinois, Ashville, North Carolina and Nashville, Tennessee.
There will be a Mass of Celebration of Gerald's life at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 21505 Augusta Ave., Port Charlotte, on Monday, July 7th at 11:30 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pam Bass, trustee, in Gerald's name, for their grandson's, College Fund. Please call 941-743-2001 for further information.

Boy Seriously Hurt In Fall From Roof
Gerald Bass, 11-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Eulis Bass of 215 Fourth ave. was critically injured about 1:20 this afternoon when he fell of the roof of a building in the 300 block Main st.
He was rushed to St. Francis hospital where emergency room attendants said he suffered a possible skull fracture and other injuries. He was in a semi-consious condition.
Person sin the area said the Bass boy with three other young lads were palying on the roof when he apparently slipped and fell to the pavement ot the rear of the building. He fell an estimated 20 feet.
