Born in Alton, N.H., he came here in 1956 from Bookline, Mass., where he was general manager of the Hotel Sheraton-Beaconsfield. He was owner-operator of Gulf Spray Motel, Treasure Island, and was a former revenue officer for the Internal Revenue Service, St. Petersburg office. He was a graduate of Duke University. During World War II, he served as an Army major. He was a member of SCORE of St. Petersburg. Survivors include his wife, Anne; a daughter, Linda Bassett, Treasure Island; and his mother, Eileen Bassett, St. Petersburg. Beach Memorial Chapel, St. Petersburg Beach.
